We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Max Aehle for receiving the prestigious award from the Freundeskreis of RPTU in Kaiserslautern! Dr. Aehle was honored for his exceptional dissertation titled “Automatic Differentiation of Compiled Programs” on May 14, 2025.

Dr. Aehle developed an innovative method that allows for the direct computation of mathematical derivatives from compiled programs. This groundbreaking approach is highly relevant for a variety of fields, such as machine learning, image reconstruction, and engineering design, as it enables the efficient integration of existing software into modern optimization processes.
